Say No To Plastic

September 18th, 2008 · No Comments

We almost use plastic for everything, from water bottles, to baby bottles, food containers, plastic forks, plastic spoons, cups, plates…

According to this article, the safety of bisphenol A, or BPA, in plastic products to human have been questioned.

While it is not practical to throw out all the plastic foods or drink containers in your cabinet, trying to cut down on their usage whenever you can may be worthwhile.

DO NOT microwave your food or drink in plastic containers!

Edward Fujimoto, a Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program explaining the hazardous of heating plastic in microwave, especially fat content, will cause cancer.  The combination of high heat, high fat and plastic releases dioxin.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the body cells and cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Don’t freeze plastic bottles with water in them as this toxin can leach into to water.

Plastic food wraps are also not to be microwaved.  Keeping bottled water in the car is very dangerous.  Both for the same reason.

May be it’s time to switch the baby bottle to glass bottle again. And it’s best to not using the microwave at all. It’s always better to be safe, for health’s sake.
